How to Connect the MCP Server and Configure the Environment
- Open the Claude dashboard and navigate to the 'Environment' section in the left menu.
- Click the button to 'Create New Environment'.
- Launch a test session within the newly created environment.
- If the AI agent doesn't automatically detect the MCP requirement, type this command in the chat: 'The agent does need to connect to the customer.io MCP server.'
- When the AI asks for technical settings (e.g., US or EU region), select the server location that matches your account (e.g., Select 'EU' if you are based in Europe).
- Wait for the AI to confirm that the connection to the external tool (email marketing tool) was successful.
Setting Up the Credentials Vault for the AI Agent
- Look at the left sidebar and find the 'Vault' category.
- Click the 'Create a new vault' button.
- Select the external tool account you want to connect (e.g., Customer.io account).
- Click the 'Allow Access' button to give the AI agent permission to interact with the tool's API.
