Understanding Claude's 3 Memory Levels
Claude operates on three distinct memory levels: (1) Conversation Memory - remembers only within a single chat session; (2) Project-specific Memory - instructions that persist across all chats within a specific project; (3) Global Memory - information that follows you everywhere across all conversations in your account.
Memory Transparency and Control
Claude doesn't store information in secret. You can review your 'Memory' list at any time in the Settings to ensure the AI isn't keeping sensitive data or outdated instructions.
